not sure if this has come up yet, if so please delete.

Wagershare is owned by Fairground Gaming Plc and they released this statement:

    Fairground Gaming Holdings plc

    Statement regarding US legislation developments

The Board of Fairground Gaming Holdings plc (‘Fairground’) makes the following statement in light of the passing by the United States Congress on 30 September 2006, of The Safe Port Act, which included the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (‘the Act’).

Fairground notes the developments in the USA and is seeking clarity on the full implications of the Act. If so advised, the board will suspend participation by US based customers in activities covered by the legislation. In the six months to 30 June 2006, revenues from US players amounted to approximately 70 per cent of the Group’s net gaming revenues.

Whilst continuing to monitor the situation, Fairground intends to proceed with appropriate caution in evaluating opportunities for further geographical diversification.

At least it’s a straight forward statement.

And I believe that Wagershare reporting actually provides the country of the player – so each affiliate should be able to work out the possible effect from their own stats.

It should be only about a 10%-20% hit for us.
Thank goodness for Europeans and Canadians eh?

    Hi,

could someone please explain to me what this means?

does it mean they won’t pay players and or affs from the states … money that is already owed?

ifso, I owe it to my readers to report as such.

I didn’t read that message into that statement.
Simply that US PLAYERS may be suspended from playing.

Nothing about confiscation of funds or not paying affiliates.

It seems to be more a disclosure piece of their US revenue share for investors.
