Online gaming companies suspended business in the United States today after Congress backed a Bill to outlaw internet gambling.

888 Holdings said US customers would no longer be permitted to bet on its websites from today, while larger rival PartyGaming – the owner of Party Poker – said it would follow suit when President George Bush signs the Bill into law, which is expected in the next two weeks.

Though I don’t promote either, this isn’t a good sign. I did read where Paradise was not going to stop promoting. Wonder how many will follow this process also?

I think it’s an industry strategy, try to get all the gamblers screaming as a last ditch effort to get bush to not sign the bill.

Boy if there was ever a time i wish there was a line item veto, it’s now.

This is pretty unbelievable (actually not), but the online gambling industry stock prices took a $6.5 billion dollar hit today. :eh:

Thats the problem, no one is going to scream. Americans are too involved in their own little worlds to care about bigger pictures. They will just find a new device most likely a government controlled one.

I believe the screaming will come after the fact Americans fully realize their freedom to gamble online is gone. By then it will be too late.

Well I knew it would come to an end, but the fact that within 72 hours, a banking law, that won’t get enforced for 9-12 months has ended everything, is amazing.

    I figured we’d have a 3 to 6 month window of time to shutdown/change.

:shots: :Bong: And I still feel pain :(
