Hi,
thanks in advance for the help.
Question #1. How do i make a link with “click here” showing? instead of the whole link?
question #2. How do i make a banner that is clickable? and how do i redirect traffic from one page of my site to another with “click here” ?
Also,
I run an ezboard forum and i really want to start a .com, how do i go about getting a website? and making my own portal ?
i know nothing about this, and i really want to start Triple777s.com , thats not a forum, just a casino portal, any help, and i mean any help would be great.
thank you again

I register my domains with GoDaddy.com. Hosting is a whole new ball of wax, everyone has an opinion, I go for cheep and find it on ebay.
and making my own portal ?
You will find a lot of HTML help with google searches, there is a lot of information. I would advise you learn how to do PHP includes, so it is easier to edit later on.
Good luck, all it takes is time, effort and luck!
In order to make a ‘Click here’ link, you’ll have to use code that they have on this page:

August 30, 2006 at 6:01 am #703950AnonymousInactiveHi Triple777,
Using click here is generally not a good idea for anchor text. Use keywords instead. You should always use the keywords that potential visitors use in their search. “It is critical for your anchor text to contain your keywords, otherwise they provide very little value in search engine ranking.”
(asume the blue text in the examples below is the actual link anchor text)
Slot Enthusiasts click here to test your slot playing knowledge with our slots quiz. (wrong)
Slot Enthusiasts test your slot playing knowledge with our slots quiz. (right)
You can get sample code from my add link page.
Why not head down to your local library and checkout some books on html? “html for dummies” is good one to get started with. That is what I did some years ago. Of course I forgot most of it.

August 31, 2006 at 8:15 am #704115AnonymousInactiveFor basics, I would check out w3schools.com. You can take little online lessons and learn html, css, etc. It’s a good resource!

I’m also workign though PHP and ended up buying three books before I really got the hang of it.
And as I improved I saw the value in all three books that I bought – it was just that they didn’t teach the stuff that I needed in the order or way that I needed to see it.
Don’t give up on it – I’m sure the answers are only a couple of hours away – once you make the first breakthrough then it starts to fall into place.
:woohoo:August 31, 2006 at 12:09 pm #704121AnonymousInactiveThanks Gooner!
My daughter volunteers at the library, so I currently have just about every book pertaining to PHP and CSS on hold hehe… before you know it, I might just have half a clue what the heck is goin on on my own websites hehe

One writer can word something that is just easier to understand sometimes. It’s actually quite amazing to experience just that while going through books. Sometimes you’ll catch yourself re-reading something over and over again, and you will just barely, if at all, grasp it. Other times it just clicks. Obviously, there are more difficult pieces of the puzzle than others.
Really, it just takes a lot of patience. It’s like a muscle that you need to continue to flex. Keep going down the path!
