One of your affiliates spammed my forum with multiple links to one website with redirects to others. I’ve obtained the following link from one of his/her banners.
xxhttp://www.7sultans.com/freetime/default.asp?btag=ad_126627
Moreover, there was a threat posted to me that if I didn’t want this person to revisit my forum to click here. I don’t succumb to threats very well. So I’m requesting this affiliate account be suspended until we have this matter resolved.
Here are the links he posted:

August 22, 2006 at 5:01 am #702990AnonymousInactiveI saw your title and thought – yes you are … (oopps got that wrong)
If you see all your posts IN THIS FORUM – you could be accused of the same thing.
:blush:I hope you’re able to get rid of your little pest though mate.
:blush:August 22, 2006 at 3:38 pm #703089AnonymousInactiveYour always the card Gooner. I know other members here are having simalar problems with their forums and don’t know how to handle it. Just deleting it doesn’t work. Other methods need to be implemented. Hopefully, this affiliate will come around to a better method of advertising and the rest of our members won’t be spammed by him.
August 23, 2006 at 3:27 am #703161AnonymousInactiveDelete, delete, delete has been my only defence to the problem so far.
But then I have membership restriction for posting – which means the spammer has to go through the motions of applying, being approved and then posting.
Anyone can browse but only approved members can read.
It seems to be effective – mainly I guess because it’s too time intensive for them to bother …
:satisfiedAugust 23, 2006 at 3:51 am #703172AnonymousInactiveI’ve already had that implemented. Nobody can post till they validate their email. Usually the spammers stop at that point. This one didn’t. As he registered I checked his IP and found a valid DNS returned. So I let him continue. After all, anyone is welcome to join. This one had no other intention but to spam.
I know that other forums just merely delete and ban these perpetrators. It seems they have to hire moderators to try and keepup. I know the chore. I’ve better things to do than deleting spam everyday.
Question, is this what PPC is all about? Hiring firms to spam forums then declare innocence because it wasn’t you that actually did the deed. I read a lot of complaints in this forum on the subject. Or, doe’s everybody here think hiring outsiders to do what they’re afraid to do themselves acceptable?
August 23, 2006 at 4:00 am #703173AnonymousInactiveDirty outsourcing eh? Plausible denability ?
That’s possibile of course. However, I do wonder whether it is just freelance. I remember hearing that SPAMMERS simlpy needed one response in a million in order to be viable for things like viagra etc.
Online casinos seem to also pay more – so perhaps it’s simjply market forces?
If I’m living in some parts of Asia and can get just one CPA signup perday (at say $75-$100) then it’s a hell of a good payrate compared to the local economy.
:huh:Because we work in an industry with money – we’ve gotta expect that there will be plenty of shysters looking for the quick buck.
:dozing:August 24, 2006 at 9:57 pm #703409AnonymousInactiveThis matter has been resolved. If anyone from Fortunate Affiliates ever does get to this thread anytime in the future.
