An affiliate webmaster in Washington state forwarded me a link to this article and asked that I post it. Due to the hostile climate in WA he would prefer to fly low on the radar and was reluctant to post it himself.

    Oh boy!

    Edited after rereading the article:

Well, I am glad he took it down and is selling.

We saw this coming, and I applaud the writer for a very good article.

We need more articles written with this approach, and hopefully this is only a start to help wake up the citizens.

    OMG :whoa:

I knew they would be out to set examples. Love that the writer speaks of how hypocritical the state is being. Some freedom rights organizations need to jump on this quick before it gets out of control. A couple months of success and other states will be following in their steps (at least those with indian gaming)

I also seen that J.Ts site was down? I sure hope that he did that and not someone else!

The state plans to hire an investigator to enforce the new law.

    :whoa:

I guess the government is willing to devote resources to enforcing the law. So much for that old argument about enforcement not being possible. I would think even ONE full time investigator tasked to just this effort could create quite a bit of impact if he or she are even the least bit net savy.

The state’s gone from trying to control gambling, which is legit, to trying to control people speaking about gambling.

It’s hard to take coming from a state that bombards us with pitches for the biggest sucker’s bet of all. You know, the one they call the lottery.

    AMEN!

I read an article today in NC that says they will fall $23 million short of the estimated $423 million the thought they were going to make on powerball.

Then one state rep says, when someone from NC wins the powerball, revenues will increase.

Come on! Isn’t that and every State run commercial in Washington promoting Gambling!

Guess it is only wrong if the State isn’t making money. I wish they would pick on someone with the resources to fight this thing big time! Then again, they probably wouldn’t pick on them.

Well there was a well-funded suit last year. It dropped its case more or less stating they didnt feel threatened any longer. As soon as they dropped their case several DOJ cases were brought against advertisers, several new laws were introduced, and the bs started hitting the fan!

These damn poloticians are so full of $hit its actually quite entertaining in a sick kind of way. No issues with me understanding why so many people hate the USA!

    Yup.

They are hiring one or two people to investigate this internet gambling stuff full time.

I guess internet sexual predators and online identity theft are further down the list of priorities when it comes to allocation of tax dollars.
