Hi guys,
I have just saw the darest and stupidest site scrape I have ever experience in my life. The “great” thing is that it is my site. I do not know on how to get this guy down so any suggestions/help will be much much much appreciated.
My site is http://www.sensiblegambler.com which was launched a few months back. Today I saw this:
http://www.sensible-gambler.com
My jaw just dropped when i saw that and started cracking up hysterically :hmmm: …which brings me to the point – how can i bring this guy down? I’ll contact the affiliate programs because i have an account with most of them but i gotta get this site down.
please help :grunt:
thanks a bunch ahead of time.
May 26, 2006 at 8:45 pm #693331AnonymousInactiveForgot to mention, almost ALL of aff. links are mine (i guess he was just a tad too lazy) except for the top gambling sites list on the right corner of the home page and the xxl casino banner…
cheerz.

May 26, 2006 at 9:07 pm #693337AnonymousInactiveWow, thats awful. I can’t believe you had it in you to laugh about it. Good luck with taking this person down.
May 26, 2006 at 10:53 pm #693348AnonymousInactiveYikes!! pretty brutal. I would consider this one to be a screen scrape, not automated. The person actually targetted you personally. I wish you the best of luck and get in contact with someone. If all else fails feel free to pm me.

I’ve been doing business on the Internet for many years. I have other sites that are retail based but never had to worry about these kinds of problems. I only started our casino site over the last two months. It just bewilders me to see this kind of thing going on so much in the casino industry. You really have to keep an eye on things in this market, don’t you. It’s crazy!
I’m realzing now that being in this market, is going to be much more time consuming than I anticipated….
How did you find out anyway? Do you use a monitoring service or do you run a check every so often?
Good luck to you – I hope you can take him down!
May 27, 2006 at 2:36 am #693361AnonymousInactiveHe hasn’t even changed the URL on some of the internal links so they’re pointing to 404’s on your own site.
Not the best brainpower I’ve ever seen in action.

May 27, 2006 at 11:29 am #693371AnonymousInactiveHello splinterfree,
I found out that this guy is also one of our affiliates so I’ve contacted him and asked him to pull the site down or we will shut down his account.
once he replies, I’ll update you.
(if he doesn’t get back to me in a couple of days, I’ll shut down his account anyway )
I hope that he does the right thing.
Sincerely,

May 30, 2006 at 6:00 pm #693720AnonymousInactiveAnother pondscum scraper from Poland here.
Do a search for my site name in google:
Look at all the crap returned. They will soon be gone from google and I know who the person is responsible.
May 30, 2006 at 8:25 pm #693735AnonymousInactiveOri,
Thanks again. Strange that none of the other aff. managers have replied to me regarding this…
Cheerz.
