Hi all,
I was wondering if you would look at my site http://www.poker30.net and tell me what do you think I could do to convert better.
Thanks

March 21, 2006 at 10:52 pm #686797AnonymousInactiveThank you.
Any criticisms?
The site is 3 months old, I only receive minimal traffic from the SEs but it seems like it is improving every day. I still remember my first signup that was received from a google search…..WOW, what a rush!
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

My site is awful looking I concentrated more on the source code than anything else. I will worry about the looks later. But anyway, based on what I see in your source something bots travel is the following possible problems:
Description Tag maybe too long I found max of 200 characters is best yours has 206, not a major deal.
Your main title tag is pushed too far down it should be just after the head section
Keywords I find have little relevancy to your page based on your tiltle
I cannot find a author for this site, this does help
There is a parsing error which is not a good one Improper tag syntax; extra character(s)::lang=”en” lang=”en”
Under poker reviews there is a link named pokerrom is this the correct spelling?
The problems are mainly in the head section. The title, description ect… should come first before the other stuff you have there. I hope I provided some useful criticism. In general from a visitor stand point great job!!! greek39

Thanks a bunch for checking that out for me. I concentrated on the basics of source code, (i.e. making sure to have meta tags, etc) but I never worried too much about the placement. I designed my site with Dreamweaver and I just “trusted” that the software would do the right thing.
What a mistake!
Fortunately, DW is pretty easy to clean up code. I will get started on that right away.
As for the keywords on the first page, I didn’t really concentrate on that too much for the index page. I targeted very specific keywords regarding poker sites and have seen some ok results from that. 80% of my traffic enters on a review page, the other 20% enters (entered) on the blog or one of the articles.
Anyway, thanks a bunch again for the advice and criticisms.
