    Hi James

If you need poker affiliate support, please contact me directly per email rather than post here as I dont check this forum often.

In your subsequent email correspondance with me you clarified the problem issue with me – ie that you are concerned with the fact that the webmaster is making reference to your domain name.

Your publisher is using my site name in his description (drawdead.com)

This is using my success to his advantage, he needs to remove it.

This is understandably a frustration for you, however there is very little Fortune Affiliates can do as he is not an affiliate of ours. Also, it is an issue related to use of your corporate name (domain name), which comes down to the legal issue of trade names and their use / abuse.

You would need to approach the webmaster in your personal capacity, as he isn’t contravening any Fortune Affiiate or Poker Room term or condition which would warrant our (or our clients) intervention.

It is unfortunate that many webmasters abuse the use of company names which they have no ownership of. This is a pervasive problem, and one which stakeholders like yourself or other injured parties need to weigh up carefully when considering litigation. Does the true damage incurred warrant the cost (financial, time or emotional) of trying to enforce change.

Very often a friendly email enquiry can elicit unexpected co-operation.

Is the webmaster interested in a formal link-exchange? In this way you both benefit.

    Kind regards

    Brad

Where does that tag go to then?

Our affiliate tags are in the format ad_12345.

This is likely a tag generated for a publisher by the poker rooms marketing company.

They would be in a similar position to Fortune Affiliates though, as their terms and conditions are not threatened, and so would not be in a position to coerce compliance.

I’ll make enquiries to contact the campaign manager concerned and ask if they can ask the webmaster / publisher concerned to remove reference to your domain name.

Just spoke to the campaign manager, who will talk to the publisher concerned today about the use of your domain name.

Publishers should be even easier to control than affiliates.

All you need to do is to refuse to renew the contract.

Good publishers and mutually beneficial relationships need a more delicate :drink: approach, but Im optimistic that progress will be made.

    Brad,

Thank you for getting this handled. The issue was not directly meant to cross your desk. I prefer to post these issues as they keep happening with frequency and others need to watch themselves just the same.

Marketers that redirect to your sites with ZERO content and utilize others url names and code are not exactly what I consider good publishing partners…

Please send me the exact website address that appears on Google with your keword domain name. Although the publisher has been identified through the link, we need to associate it with the exact website listed on Google. The campaign manager has emailed the publisher several times and tried contacting him telephonically, but he may be away for a few days. I also see that your domain name is associated with competing poker rooms, perhaps through the same publisher, and trust you are in communication with them too.

Please bear with us , as communication with publishers / affiliates can be a time consuming process.

Pardon my french but this is a BS excuse that FL (and others) have been using for quite some time. The bottom line here is that in this instance a Fortune Lounge casino is knowingly accepting players obtained through unfair marketing practices. Plain and simple it’s wrong, and very irresponsible for the operator to ignore this injustice by passing the buck while accepting tarnished traffic.

Though you might not be in a position to coerce compliance with an affiliate the casino could and should immediately terminate the media partner relationship or at the very least refuse to accept traffic from that particular website. To say you can do nothing at all while accepting traffic from the scam site IMO makes the casino just as wrong.
