    Good day all :)

I just finished the web site http://www.all-stars-poker.com and was wondering if any one could critique it, please.

I really don’t know if this is how to build one, so any comments would be greatly appreciated, my skin is thick :)

    thanks for any replies

First impressions are….nice layout. Very easy on the eyes, not so overwhelming with banners in every square centimeter of the site like so many others have. I like that. It has some good content. The only thing I would say is that there is no “stickiness” to the site. What would make people WANT to come back after they visited it for the first time? The starting hand guide is useful and probably one of the best layouts for it I’ve seen. Maybe a feed for a tourney schedule or something along those lines would help.

Navigation is quite simple and there is no guessing where you are, where you’re going or what to expect. Again, thumbs up for that aspect. Color scheme contrasts well and everything is easy to read. The text is a nice size for us visually impaired people.

Meta tags look good. Looks like you are missing a closing “>” here after the “<*br / " : (Asterisks added so the code would show)

    Code:
    Index.html
Info Line 131 column 27: start tag was here.
    <*/blockquote >[B][COLOR=”Red”]<*br /[/COLOR][/B]<*/td>

Other than that small little thing, not bad at all. I like it.

    Thanks for the comments,

I agree with you though, as I am not sure I would actually stay there other than the tips and beginner crap.

It is very new, and I will continue to work and improve it (make it sticky) as much as I can.

I don’t think the web needs another crappy banner farm website, just my opinion.

    Again thanks for the comments

For a first site this is pretty good. One thing to be aware of is how the site looks in browsers other than Internet Explorer. I use Firefox and some of the text is merged into the table border. Other than that it’s great! I am launching my first poker site (http://www.pokerforgirls.co.uk) in a few weeks and would be interested in exchanging links, if you’re interested.
