    Hello Everyone,

I’ve enjoyed reading the forum. It’s not too often I find a forum as useful as this one. Anyway, I’m pretty new to the casino referral stuff. Actually, I’m pretty new to the whole making money on the net stuff as well. I decided to get into the referral game after doing some research on the best ways to make money with my site.

I run a fantasy sports forum, StarSportsTalk.com. It’s a discussion and support forum for fantasy players. I tried to make my forum a little different from the hundreds of other fantasy forum by offering free leagues where winners win cash and prizes. Unfortunately, I’m not rich by any means, and the small amount of money I have budgeted for my site will dry up soon if I don’t get some cash coming in.

After some research, I’ve come to the conclusion that online gambling is a great way to make some real money. Thanks to this site, I believe I’ve got the basic knowledge I need, and I think I’ve found some sites that look pretty good as well. However, I did want to get some of your expert opinions on a couple things.

    1. Is it better to promote a few sites or as many as you can fit on a page without having to scroll for hours? After looking at the referral programs, it seems many pay a higher percentage if you refer more clients. So my thinking is, I shouldn’t spread out the referals too much. Instead I should concentrate on a few programs, and try to build up my commission percentage. Is that right? Or should I diversify… like when you invest in stocks.

    2. What do you think about these programs. I mainly chose them after looking at how much they payout percentage wise. I gave most weight to those who paid gross instead of net.

    Programs:

    • allstaraffiliates.com
    • iogcasinos.com
    • thepartnerpage.com
    • casinoblasters.com
    • slotland.com
    • poker.com

Any other advise you have for a newbie would be greatly appreciated. I’m working on the additional page on my website now, and could sure use as much input as possible. Thanks in advance.:hattip:

    Hi Marcus,

I think you’ll find a number of different answers to your questions here.

    1. I think it’s best to find the right number of properties to promote for your site. This will take some experimenting and trial and error on your part. I know some webmasters that do well advertising a few properties at a time, as well as some whom do well promoting 20+ properties at a time. This is a variable factor and you will just have to try it out for yourself. That being said, to start off, I would recommend concentrating on a few properties and build from there.

    2. There are many factors to consider when looking for an affiliate program. Not only payouts, but reputation, availability of affiliate managers, a willingness from the program to work towards your goals, statistical offerings, and conversion ratio of the properties.

    Good luck in your quest!

    Regards,

    :D

Thanks for the advice. I’ve already made some changes to my list. I’ve taken off slotland.com. After registering, I found out that their payout is 15% as opposed to the 25% they advertised on their referal page. You said, check out the conversion rate. I see them on the sites, but can I really believe them?

I checked out your link for focal click. How are you affilliated with them? Can you recomend some places with high conversion rates? Also, what do you think of the other properties I have on my list. Thanks for the help.

    Marcus,

I represent Focal Click as the affiliate manager. In regards to high conversion rates, it would be better to ask the assitance of the affiliates in this community. I do know that the answers will vary widely and you will not get a definitive answer. All the affiliate programs listed at CAP are great choices.

A great way to start may be to take a look at some of the sites that affiliates have listed in their signature and see whom they are promoting.

    Best Regards,

perhaps its best to start with promoting just one or two casinos,
you will learn alot from this, and be able to make better choises afterwards.

Also: why not start with revenue share immidiatly?
Your first player could bring you $1000 in the first month…:)

    Hi Marcus,

Please pm me. I might buy some adspace on your forum and could send you some traffic. I see some room for cooperation here.

Re. Slotland – they pay 15% of DEPOSITS, not losses. It is by far a better deal for beginners because you get paid whether the player wins or loses.

And once you prove yourself and send some volume your pay goes up to 20%, then 25%, then it’s negotiable.

Wow… This is a great group. Thanks for the advice. Right now, all my promoting plans are on hold until I get my gambling page added to my site. I’m about 80% finished with the main site, starsportstalk.com, but it seems like that last 20% never goes away. Once I get one thing done, another comes up. I had planned on launching my site yesterday, but that’s been put on hold. Thanks to this site, hopefully I can fully launch my site, by the next couple of days.

Anyway, I think I’ve settled on 5 different groups. My original background is in finance, so I guess I can’t get my self away from diversifying. I think 5 is a good number without spreading myself too thin. I also took some of your advice, and did some more research on this forum through links and what not. I’ve expanded my list, and hopefully I’ll get around to promoting them as well.

Thanks again for your help guys (gals?).

Hi Marcus, welcome to CAP :)

As Dominique mentioned in various threads, don’t put all your eggs in one basket, so I think it is better to sign up with more programs.

Slotland is great, they are always among the first who pays affiliates in a given month.

I am working now my casino site, and pick the partners from the “X month comission received” forum here. :D If they pay constantly I read their T&C-s, and search for the program’s name in the forums here and after the ton of info about the group I can make my decision to work with them or not. If a lot of affiliates tell good things about a program then it cannot be bad.
I prefer to sign up more programs, because I would like to show my visitors different games and places, and when time goes by and I am not satisfied with one of them then I give them less exposure or drop them.

    Hope this helps :)

Yeah, I changed my mind after reading some posts here. I guess they are one of the better programs. I’ll check out the areas in this forum that you mentioned. Thanks

    Hi Marcus,

    Welcome to CAP.

It would appear to me that most of your site visitors are interested in sport, so you may want to consider adding someone like http://www.nine.com/ to your site as they offer a sports book.

    Just a thought. :turn:
