Hi,
I did this site:
http://www.pokervip.biz/index.html (Need to change the upper buttons)Submit it to SE, and i send a bit of traffic from my adult sites. Rather new with poker stuff, so i don’t know what to do from here.
1- What should i add in my site ?
2- What could i do for more traffic ?
3- Wanted to put a rss feed on the main page, but i have no clue how…
As you can read, i know how to promote adult sites. But i am lost on the poker or mainstream. Are there sites, like link list or top list, where i can submit and give a link back or something ? Banner exchange seems to be a click scam, most of the time…
thanks

:nervous:I’d call it a banner FARM – but it’s more of a banner herb garden.
:tounge2:Is the site really just 2 pages plus a link to a poker dictionary ?
Why would you spent time and effort seeking traffic?
Do you really expect people to click on the adverts ?Get some content into the site first … then worry about promotion.
December 14, 2005 at 11:56 am #678556AnonymousInactivewell, what type of content i should have ? I don’t know the first thing about what you are talking about when you say content.
December 14, 2005 at 1:41 pm #678567AnonymousInactiveI think Gooner refers to for example articles, reviews, etc, which you can write for your site. People won’t trust a site with just on a few banners on it (would you trust?).
If you cannot (or don’t want to) write your own articles (content for your site) you can gather some from the article submission sites (http://www.articlecity.com, http://www.searchwarp.com, http://www.ezinearticles.com) – just keep the author’s credit with the article you copy.
For the long run the better you write your own articles, search engines love unique content.
Hope this helps.

I gotta say I have read many of your site reviews and you are just too dam honest. It cracks me up! there is no way your reviewing my site.
December 15, 2005 at 3:09 am #678637AnonymousInactiveI pretty new to this but The Gooner is right do the content first and worry about promoting later. I would worry about your front page first, optimize it first. Many will disagree with me but I have had great success with loading my front page with content as in actual writing. Also I have better success with banners than i do with text links. My site should be done around 2009 because of all the content will be my own work. Believe me its alot of work. Even the poker dictionary, which you spelt wrong (dictionnary) typed word to word. Anyway have fun and good luck!! greek39
December 16, 2005 at 8:54 pm #678781AnonymousInactiveOppps … sorry I’ll try to be more generous …
:letspartyHowever …
I’ve been working on the assumption that posters here are not newbies to website publishing, but maybe new to casinos, poker, sports book marketting … and seriously want to attract traffic, visitors and eventually profits.
That means that opinions must be given – and that there is not much need to sugar coat them? If a site really is two pages of banners – then why would you encourage it?
In order to do that people must have something worth reading. surely the idea that you can host a few banners and expect to make your fortunate has long gone ?
:stirpot:It’s not nice to waste posters time … is it?

Something to click on and read, some articles of interest … and I beleive that people will now actually look at the adverts (especially the text one) in a different light.
Much better … and keep it going ….
:hithead:December 16, 2005 at 9:54 pm #678787AnonymousInactiveThanks.
I really like how the RSS feeds enhance everything. I am french, so writing in english is not easy for me. Your tips about articles were extremely helpful.
