    Hi there,

I have two burning questions and it would be fantastic if someone could finally help me out with. Thanks in advance.

-If a website would rank on the first page for the term ‘Online Gambling’ in Google.com on let’s say… spot 8/9 or 10 in Google.com. How many visitors would this bring me per day (approx)

-Do Google.com results vary per US state? is it possible that someone from California get’s other results than someone from Florida for the same keyword?

    Kind regards

As far as I’m aware of… there’s no way to determine the first one. As for states, I highly highly doubt there’s a change.

Would be around 50 clicks per day, but certainly depends on the title and description you use.

How would you be able to tell in an arbitrary search term?

Why not search google for the term and then see what the traffic is on Compete for the sites on the first page?? Sure compete kind of sucks but it should give you an idea what you’re looking at.

Google has many search servers and your site can vary from page position to different pages on different servers.

Hi – usually positions 7-10 get about 5-7 times less click than positions above it based on heat map and click through data that is available all over the web. In certain industries this will vary as well as the relevance of the SERP to the queries intent. Yes, different results can be based on geo-targeting if Google deems the query to be local in nature. Users may also be hitting various data centers that are running slightly different versions of the data set as Google is always testing and updating.

It is something you will need to test out .. make sure you are signed out of Google, clear your cookies and delete your cache. This will give you a better understanding of a fresh look. You can also use AOL to view results, as the Google geo, intent based and historical filters will not be applied there.

This show’s you Google.com SERPs from a large list of US cities. May come in handy…

Having traveled a bit I can verify that Google SERPs are different by state. I would check in the morning in CA and at night in NY and see different results. Usually only by a few spots though, its not like things on page 1 jumped to page 5. These were for non locally targeted sites tough. If you were targeting locally somehow like, “Montana Slot Central” for example, I bet the results would be even more dramatic.
