Ok, I know the question might sounds stupid but …
    1. I want to make sure that this actually works.
    2. I want to make sure it doesn’t damage the site reputation in the long run.

    So here is the question.
There are planty of forums on the net that are designed for players, not webmasters. Seems like a no brainer to simply go, register and do so site advertisement there. After all those are the people we target.
My question is directed to webmasters who had any expirience with that. I know for a fact that “spam” or “unwelcome advertisement” is always a bad thing in the forums and in most cases might damage the reputation of person(site) where it comming from. SO has anyone tried this form of marketing? was it effective? and what works the best? and what forums are out there that accept this form?

I know that inderect advertisement works, such as offering an advise and taking part in conversation and use your signature as a way of attracting people but my question here is about direct ads.

    Thanks in advance.

IMO, you won’t have big results when posting the same bonuses everyone offers, unless you find a way to differentiate from other posts, be the first to post these bonuses, and have strong writing skills to attract people with ‘promo’ posts. It works a bit, but it takes time and lots of posts. IMO, this time could be better used with other important things.

I’ve tried these things in my early days. :woo-hoo:

If you go the forum route, you have to become a contributing member of the forum, not just a spammy advertiser. Forum members are pretty good at smelling out spam. If you have something to contribute to the discussions then go for it and place a sig line (if they allow it), you will get a small amount of traffic, but it’s the extra learning and understanding of player issues that you should find more helpful. Some forums do have spam sections for those that want to just post ads, but you can guess how many people look at those.

Oh, and one last thing to add. Read throught he forum rules before posting anything, some forum owners will be quite vigilent in protecting the integrity of their forum…as they should be.

my forum.. and many of the ez board forums have what are called friends rooms.. and that is the place.. where people with other sites can go post a link to their sites. with a little write up..

most of the forums on ezboards also let you use siggys that are links to your site..

the main thing you wanna make sure of on easy boards.. is not to go and post the same thing.. with the same title at every site.. or ezboard itself will reconize it as spamming.. .. also make sure you do not post any thing about your site or links to your site (other than having a tastefully done siggy) in any section other than friends rooms.. or forum owners may report you as spamming or call you a spammer..

also even with just a siggy .. if you post outside of friends room make sure what you are posting about is more than just a one liner to get someone to see your link..

feel free to come post your link in my friends room at the easy street forum if you like..

You have confirmed exactly what I thought
My post was more to confirm my own thinking and get some feedback from people more expirienced with gambling promotions. I’m new to the whole gambling theme and hoping to make it productive but I have been around for a while so familular with the rules of the forums.
Although I think this conversation is good and hopefully will stop other people from making these type of mistakes, as well as stop me from waisting time
My question came from short search. When I have done a google on “gambling forums” I have found quite a few and looked at first 10 or so, what I have found surprised me, as pretty much all of them had a section where webmasters were trying to promote their site, bonus, etc. and it made me wander if gambling forums are something that is totaly different and if the players are more perceptive to this type of things, so I just had to ask!

    Thanks again everyone!
This Forum is definatly great place :hattip:
