I have a few casino domain names bu am only developing one.
I thought maybe I could park them for a year or so untill they are out of the sandbox then develop..
Will my URLs, being parked, be let out of the sandbox eventually??
Or do I have to actually have a site there.November 13, 2005 at 9:36 pm #676334AnonymousInactivertb1980 wrote:I have a few casino domain names bu am only developing one.I thought maybe I could park them for a year or so untill they are out of the sandbox then develop..

Or do I have to actually have a site there. You’ll need to have a site there and be indexed in google to ever get out of the sandbox.
November 13, 2005 at 10:20 pm #676335AnonymousInactiveAnd one year might not be enough to get out of the sandbox anymore, the way Google is going…
November 14, 2005 at 12:17 am #676338AnonymousInactiveyou have to have your page indexed then it gets sandboxed…
no index, no sandbox.
i would also recommend you to target all of your keywords because if you just put up a main page just to get indexed and you change your keywords later..lets say after you get outta sandboxed, you might be sandboxed again.
November 15, 2005 at 4:03 pm #676461AnonymousInactiveI agree,
IMHO, no one should be afraid from the sandbox or any other ranking limiting factors from that class.
One year is only an estimation, Why not use this ‘year’ to establish link popularity and PR?
Is google the only SE you are relying upon?
Forget the sandbox or any other “scary” declarations about Google, put your sites up and things will happen.
Good Luck

Right on, M.D!
November 15, 2005 at 9:25 pm #676505AnonymousInactiveThat is a good point M.D. with the level of competition for terms in this industry, it would take a year to get ranked on Google anyway (for any decent keywords). When starting a new site, take the year or so and build links, then by the time you are released from the sandbox you will have the rankings and the traffic.
BTW, we are at 10+ months in the sandbox so far.
November 15, 2005 at 9:47 pm #676512AnonymousInactiveI launched a new site (non gambling related) 2 weeks ago, got a handfull of incoming links pointing to it and within a week it was listed in Google.
Top 10 rankings on all primary keywords. Can somebody explain that?
November 15, 2005 at 9:49 pm #676514AnonymousInactiveMaybe the keywords are not all that popular? Google, from what I understand, only sandboxes for competetive terms.

It’s by far not as competitive as gambling but still…….Results 1 – 10 of about 369,000 for amstaff.

nr7 in one week for a new site is not bad (i wish i was that succesfull with my gambling sites).November 15, 2005 at 10:29 pm #676518AnonymousInactiveremco wrote:It’s by far not as competitive as gambling but still…….Results 1 – 10 of about 369,000 for amstaff.

nr7 in one week for a new site is not bad (i wish i was that succesfull with my gambling sites). It’s the keywords for sure!! Your most popular keyword only has 2,090,000 results on google and your least popular has a mere 109,000…..
Where as keywords like online casino produced 26,000,000 results.
I’m sure that’s what it is:)
November 15, 2005 at 10:37 pm #676521AnonymousInactiveIt would be nice to know wich keywords will get you in the sandbox and wich not.
Any ideas anyone?
November 15, 2005 at 11:55 pm #676532AnonymousInactiveRemco, you may not have been put into the sandbox yet. The way it works is that a new site gets indexed first by Google, then 2-3 weeks later Google places the sandbox filter on the competitive keywords you are trying to rank for. Then the waiting period to emerge from the sandbox. If the keywords aren’t deemed that competitive by Google, then you will continue to rank for those. Our site which was sandboxed back in January has always ranked well for a dozen or so non-competitive terms, some by luck and others by design.
November 16, 2005 at 12:38 am #676538AnonymousInactiveI’d like to express my personal point of view on the sandbox issue in particular and all the other SE (Google) filters in general.
I am no SE nor SEO expert, I’d like to hear what others feel about this issue as well.
No one can tell exactly what filters are applied for real and for how long. no one knows the exact ranking algorithms but Google Labs and no one can tell the exact weight of each ranking factor etc..
We can discuss this for ever and find ourselves exactly were we started.
The problem nowadays is that before one take a step in online marketing.. He places his own obstacles before his own foot.
I believe that no one should fear starting a new web site because of any SE filters (excluding duplicate content).
Why?
Because if you build a few sites with some content, trade links with other sites, cross linking your web sites (like a small network) and actually serve content. You will get links back, you will build more sites, you will then get more links and so on..
in the meantime…. your sites will get crawled.. sandbox time will pass
and when looking back you will realize how much progress you have achieved just by not being worried about the negative side and focusing on hard work of building your own business. You might be amazed to see how many people looking for other terms than just “online casino” have reached your site while searching for gambling.
after all.. there are so many filters and ranking factors we are not aware of out there.. so why look for them instead of what’s really important?
Don’t chase PR, Don’t chase your fears. build more web sites and you will get there faster than anyone else.
November 16, 2005 at 2:24 am #676548AnonymousInactive:angel: M.D., that was truly BRILLIANT… How refreshing to read those words.
I have dabled in this for a few years, off and on More off…….self taught and still very much learning, it can be easy or it can be complicated.
My problem is that I want so much in the begining and when I don’t recieve I start thinking that the affiliates are riping me or I need to take classes or I’m doing something wrong and finally decide it’s not worth the time I put into it…:flush: .
I am now working on my 4th site, using my 3rd’s URL temporarily…
I think 4 is gonna be my lucky number.
Thanks for the reply.
