Have been granted a licence in the state of Tasmania. Is a joint venture between them and PBL which is Kerry Packer’s operation. He also owns Crown Casino and the Nine Network, one of the three major television networks in Australia. He also has a joint venture with Microsoft because msn here in Australia is known as ninemsn. Will be interesting to see if ads start making their way onto our tv/computer screens. Obviously the racing fraternity is up in arms about it.
On a similar front Betfair have also signed a partnership with the Australian Football League.

Betfair have spent much time trying to get into the Australian market and finally looks like they are succeeding.
