Hi all.. i have a quick question..
I am fairly new to all this and i think my brain has reached the saturation limit.. but wanted to get a few things straight in my head…
My understanding of the rules for sending out emailers is this..
1. they need to have subscribed to recieve your promotions etc..
2. you need to have an opt out button or way for them to sign off of your newsletter..
3. and you are suppost to have a phyical address at the bottom…I myself only send out emails to people that have subscribed, but im getting so much spam in my inbox these days.. i just wanted to get the rules straight in my head so i can tell who is not following the above rules.. and are they rules per say.. or guidelines..
thanks for putting up wif me..

When they subscribe it’s called “opt-in”.
I prefer doing “double opt-in”, meaning I send out a note asking them to confirm the subscription. That eliminates names being submitted buy pranksters, or by evil wishers who just want to get you into trouble.
It has become quite difficult to run a respectable newsletter.

It’s called the CAN-SPAM Act and is governed by the FTC. Here’s a link to the rules:
