InactiveHi everyone,
I am wondering how you all feel about Referback now that they’ve eliminated the retroactive T&Cs. Have you decided to promote them again, or are they permanently off your sites?
I haven’t added their casinos back to my site, because I’m still pissed that they tried to pull such a stunt in the first place. Also, the starting commission there is only 20%, which isn’t that great when you look at the 35% offered by Rewards Affiliates and the 25% offered by most other Microgaming programs.
It’s my understanding that Referback was sued over the whole thing. And part of me thinks that the only reason they finally budged is because they were sued. Had they not been sued, I wonder if they would have listened to any of us at all?
In any case, what’s done is done, and the end result is that the old T&Cs will be honored. So now I’m wondering…. will you promote them again, or are they gone for good?

I did not put them back on my sites. This 20% rule is not great.. I have a new player this month but since the new player already has a account with another bell rock casino, they are not considered new to move commissions up to 25%.
So basically you have to bring in a brand new player to bell rock group to be considered a new player in the commission structure.

InactiveThey won’t be on my sites for a veeeeerrrryyy long time to come if ever at all again. they did not only try and pull that stunt of theirs, but also treated us with disdain, lied to us and spoke to us as if we were children. “This is a good thing we did for you…”
Anyway.. ever since I removed them, I picked up some new MGS casinos and they are performing better than RB ever did.

InactiveAs far as I know, no legal action was ever taken, but inquiries were being made and they were made very aware of this fact in no uncertain terms. At the very least, they knew that the threat was real and being acted on.
Whether or not the possibility of legal action was what caused them to back down, we shall never know – but I tend to think it was everyone’s efforts combined that achieved the final desired result.

InactiveHey Everyone,
I removed a lot of traffic to Referback and still have more links to remove. The revenue has dropped to a pathetic amount after all these years promoting this group. Referback is not competitive with their present commission rates. They are as arrogant and impossible to deal with as they ever have been. Referback sucks!September 21, 2005 at 7:21 pm #673130Anonymous
InactiveI am moving them back slowly.
They did do the right thing eventually, and if there is nothing to be gained by doing the right thing, none of the programs will ever come around again when there is a problem. And you better believe there will be problems – just hopefully a different version.
I don’t blame Referback per se, I still think the entire casinio affiliate industry would have been in chaos if we had not prevailed here, and I think 90% of the programs would take advantage of us if we gave them an inch. Referback is in no way unique in this. They just took longer to cave because the 20% thing had been in effect in excess of a year. It gave them a legal edge over everyone who had been sending players ever since – or so I was told by a lawyer. They caved because of affiliate pressure. But a legal threat sure didn’t hurt.
I would like to encourage programs to come back into the fold when they have gone astray, because I basically believe they would all go astray if they dared, and because there has to be a reason for them to come back and stay in the fold. If they do this again, they will be gone for good from my sites.
I, too, have given exposure to other micros and have done well beyond expectation for the short time of exposure I offered. But I still do better with Referback.
So they are coming back for me – because I believe that there has to be some sort of point in doing the right thing other than morals – we are in business and this industry is not known for morals. Plus, I like the income. They will have more competition, because the micros I added recently are here to stay.

This is still in effect.

MemberI have worked with them since they started up and have a fairly sizable player base with them. I have them up in limited capacity and will leave them at that for a few months in retribution for all the aggravation they caused and for the generally bad intent of their actions.

Players that were brought in before the change are not affected anymore.

Well, me too, by virtue of the new Micros I started working with performing well.
Referback will have less exposure and more competition because I am not about to dop a new good thing I found.

InactiveNever did much with them and they won’t be getting back on my sites is a hurry.
Sure I agree that we should be willing to put programs back when they have a change of heart but the whole thing is that they shouldn’t test the waters by announcing changes without consulting us first. It’s becoming a cliche but aren’t we partners with them?
And they took so long to do it with all the polls etc when the results would have been obvious to a 2 year old before they even started the polls.

InactiveI removed every single link. Why should I choose to work with a program that is attempting to pay me the least they can with these ridiculous terms and conditions. The commission is also lower than any other casino group.
Yes some terms have been removed. But they are still not that great. There’s so many other programs out there that I actually trust, referback is not one of them.

InactiveI’m leaving them rogued for the time being. They have caused too much hassle and grief and clearly only backed down, once we all started speaking with one united voice.

InactiveMy honest opinion:
As much as I don’t like Referback or the people behind them, I do want to point out that Fortune actually was the longest in violation, as Referback started their newest terms later (of course, if you count back to the 20% thing, then Referback were in violation longer but none of us pressed the issue).
Thus – if you are willing to put Fortune back up, you should also be willing to put Referback back up. I have to agree with Dom about there being some return for them to go back to their original terms – otherwise the next time there will not be any negotiation – you will be raped and that is that.

InactiveI agree with rewarding good behavior. They did ultimately change back. I will be putting back some links soon, but am in no hurry since they weren’t. I do think I should continue working with them since I got what I wanted, we all did
