Greetings all,
Thanks in advance for taking a look.
The current “meat” of the site is here : http://freerolls.drawdead.com
The subdomain was developed before my time but I have made considerable changes since taking it over.
The main page located at : http://www.drawdead.com is utilizing a low priced template, to be replaced in the future either with a vbulletin portal implementation or a full redesign. I wanted to get something up there to add content pages and hopfully grow into casino games from the poker side of the house.
Any and all comments are welcome
May 16, 2005 at 10:14 pm #665633AnonymousInactiveI like the site. How are your freeroll players converting? I don’t promote freerolls, but have read that they don’t convert well.
May 16, 2005 at 10:54 pm #665639AnonymousInactiveI have exactly the same comment as pokermonger – I like the site and the idea, but do those players convert?
May 17, 2005 at 3:02 am #665649AnonymousInactiveWell ive had the site for a little over 2 months now and ive doubled revenue each month so far.
The concept is solid and I have lots of additional “value add” ideas to implement. I just added the ratings and feel that this will lead to a stronger voice from the customer base back to my affiliates.
Here are some examples this month on conversions:
(new site)
Impressions: Clicks: Register:
610 269 10(More established site)
Number of visits: 119
Number of downloads: 41
Number of new Real accounts Purchasing: 1
Number of Active Real Accounts (New & Old): 6(Another New One)
Clicks Signups New Depositor
120 32 1Im assuming these conversions are low. I have been staying on revshare thinking about the long run more than immediate paydays, is this a sound idea ?
Thanks again for the feedback!
May 17, 2005 at 3:39 am #665651AnonymousInactiveYes revshare is the way to go IMO. I think the idea is great and if marketed well will generate alot of traffic and will lead to stickiness, as players will come back to see when freerolls are. My only concern is this. I assume, sometimes incorrectly about a lot of things, most poker players who are going to generate the most rake are like me, and don’t even consider freerolls when looking for a place to play. Why would I try to wade thru 1,000 maniacs to win at the most $50, more likely $2, when I can sit down at a ring game for real money and win $5-10 per table per hour if I’m a good player? I am not criticizing, I just am concerned that freeroll players won’t ever turn into whales.
I guess I’m asking if you have a strategy to turn the freerollers into consitent players? Possibly combine the freeroll idea with an almost school-like approach?
May 17, 2005 at 3:41 am #665652AnonymousInactiveI have an alternate to freerolls that I am working on based on the same idea for the real players.
thanks
May 17, 2005 at 2:29 pm #665672AnonymousInactiveHolis,
I have to say, at least for me, that the black text on the red blackground is very difficult to read. Maybe a white or light grey color would show up better.
Just a thought.
Also, my eyes were immediately directed to the photo of the cards laying on the table. This may be a good place for a poker room offer or listing. I’m thinking that this position would receive a good clickthru rate.
What do you think?
Kind Regards,

Thank you for the feedback. I have changed the font to white for now.
Much appreciated.
May 20, 2005 at 6:29 pm #665852AnonymousInactiveOk I took a plunge into the color wheel and came up with this :
http://www.drawdead.com/mock1.htm
Im not really sold on it but it seems easier to read.
May 20, 2005 at 6:39 pm #665853AnonymousInactiveThe pink looks much better than I would have thought. I would go with a deeper blue for the menu, to make the white letters stand out more.
May 20, 2005 at 6:50 pm #665854AnonymousInactivethanks monger, appreciate it.
Im not sold on the pinkish color either, but its one of the palate colors based on the base color I selected.
May 20, 2005 at 7:12 pm #665855AnonymousInactiveone more http://www.drawdead.com/mock2.htm
May 20, 2005 at 7:45 pm #665861AnonymousInactiveI like that one better than the pink.
May 20, 2005 at 8:06 pm #665867AnonymousInactiveI like the blue background too, but I don’t know if it matches that well with the green menu items. Maybe it would look better if you used the blue menu items from the pink mockup on this new blue mockup? Also the turquoise links are a tad hard for me to read. If you darkened the links slightly, I think they would look great.
May 20, 2005 at 8:47 pm #665875AnonymousInactivehmm very odd, the colors come right from a program that allows base color and suggests other colors to complement etc…
I never changed the link colors from the orig site, let me go try another round.
