Help With Index Page

OK, so I’ve been reading a lot of Search Engine Optimization and have picked out a few detailed lists of keywords that I want to optimize my site for.

On my index page, I have my first poker review beneath a short introduction. Would it be better to just put this poker review on a separate page and write a lengthier introduction working my keywords into the text (while at the same time not making this obvious)???
