Two thumbs up on the latest developments. Party Poker has disabled individual tracker stats to make it impossible to track individual players and therefore impossible to do a rake back. You guys rock.

First of all, I would like to commend Party Poker for their anti-rakeback policies. However, shouldn’t something be done about sites that are openly promoting rakebacks like the one MrMcgee pointed out.

“If you have a PLAY money account, you still qualify, but you must create a BRAND NEW account.”They are essentially stealing other affiliates’ players. Has Poker Source Online been contacted and asked to stop this type of promotion. They are obviiously and openly violating Party Poker’s terms. Why haven’t their account been frozen?
I commend Party Poker for taking steps to discourage rake backs. But, I would like to see Party Poker go one step further. That is, enforcing their policies. Sites that are openly offering rake backs should have their accounts frozen until they stop promoting rake backs.
I agree with AceKicker. I’ve had players ask me for a rakeback, and told me that if I don’t offer it to them they will join elsewhere. I refused stating that it was against the terms and conditions, but make me look like the bad guy (greedy too), since so many people opening advertise it.

There are even sites that compare the rakebacks offered at other sites.
I don’t think we should have to compete with that. It’s not like we have a choice of if we should offer a rakeback, since it is against the affiliate agreement. I would like to see those affiliates that openly advertise rakebacks, have their payments stopped.It does bug me a little that even if they stopped offering rakebacks they would still keep making tons of $$ since they have so many players signed up under them because they offered a rakeback.
Enough is enough, they should be stopped and I think this is a good first step, but more should be done.
I agree with all of you guys on the rakeback issue. Personally I have never done it because I simply don’t want to manange it. I think the unfair advantage comes to play when honest affiliates like myself and others wouldn’t think about doing it in fear of losing our affiliate status and residual incomes. Yet the ones doing it continue to do it because no one is stopping them.
Kudos to PartyPoker if their actually going to stop this practice. I think only time will tell and the true barometer if everyone is on a level playing field will be when PSO is no longer offering rakeback and only the free $50. Likewise when all the banners and ads disappear on places like 2+2.
It is very easy to tell non-producers that they cannot offer rakeback, but Party will definately be flexing some muscle when they tell their big hitters who are generating six figure MGR’s every month that they can no longer participate in this practice. Needless to say it should be interesting to see how this affects the big rake back sites.
PokerSourceOnline / FrequentFlopper.com don’t seem to be too worried about the recent changes affecting them …

We are in the process of getting all rake back sites remove PartyPoker.com from their list. Anyways, the current system put in place will discourage anyone to do any rake backs.
It is just a matter of time for all these rake back sites to remove PartyPoker.com from their list.

What you’ve said is indeed encouraging, and indeed it will prevent all regular affiliates from providing rake rebates to their players. However, the current system you’ve implemented will not discourage PokerSourceOnline from offering a rake rebate at Party Poker. It is quite clear that this affiliate is being provided with precisely the type of individual player data that the system you’ve just implemented denies all ‘regular’ affiliates.
And judging by this post made by one of the administrators of their forums/site, they’re apparently not worried about having their rake rebate at Party Poker be shut down any time soon.
What’s the deal with this particular affiliate?
