Hi, I’ve said this before and now again: I don’t see the advantage of the way you go about the trackers.

The current system has a time stamp on the bonus offer attached to each tracker.

While I am aware that we have an option to extend the bonus offer, why do you make us endure this extra pain in the ass when it isn’t necessary from my point of view.

It would be different if you weren’t still offering the same bonus offer; so basically it just means a big hassle for the webmasters.

Not too mention it isn’t helping PP’s best interest either. I know for myself I now have like 4 (of the 5) trackers I had originally signed up for; that have expired and now I’m faced with having to find all your links and go thru and update the damn things (sorry, but this is so incredibly frustrating) to another tracker link code that will in effect, merely restore what i originally had put up and should have been able to forget about; just like I have with EVERY other aff program.

Now I understand when a bonus offer is changed, I realize I have no choice but to go and change them on my sites; but when I have to go thru this very tedious and time-consuming chore just to achieve the same thing as was before;…. it makes me want to scream.

Now add to that, the fact that I make much more money from casinos than poker, and guess which end is going to suffer if I only have time to address one of the two?

That’s right, which is why I am where I am at now.

And its not likely going to change anytime soon because i refuse to go thru and change those links simply to satisfy some less-than-reasonable policy bs. Instead what I will do is to stay alert to find your links, and as i come upon them I will change any bonus offer I have currently listed, to nothing at all. I simply DO NOT HAVE TIME TO WASTE PLAYING THESE “CHANGE THE TRACKER” GAMES!

so we all suffer. PP loses out on a player because the player either goes with another poker room I have listed that has a bonus still being offered, or if the player follows a link that promises a 20% bonus and then doesn’t get it; he’s pissed at PP and at me for false advertising.

This is all due to the silly, silly process that is necessary in order for me to be able to slap up what should have been a simple link offering a simple % bonus.

What is so damn important that PP chooses to make this process so hard?

I seriously doubt any logical reason can be given. Not when you take into account what i have said, that your current process merely ensures that I won’t be putting up any further bonus offers for PP, and those that are already up will become rather than an incentive, they will be an INSURANCE that the player starts out of the gate pissed at PP and at me because the bonus I said they’d get, had its stupid tracker expire; so how is that to anyone’s advantage?

I agree with you, but I will take a guess why I think the trackers expire. A lot of people sign up as an affiliate thinking it will be easy to make money. Lets say that these people spammed a few blogs, message boards, forums, etc. for a few months and did not generate any money. They give up and stop trying. Sometimes the links they spammed do show up in the search results and so if a new player happens to sign up via that link, 100% of the money stays with Party Poker instead of 80% to Party Poker and the remaining 20% of it sitting in an affiliates account who gave up on marketing. That is my guess.

    Hi Guys,

My apologies for the extended period of in activity in the forum.

I understand your concern regarding the trackers getting expired. But a tracker expires only when there is 90 days of inactivity. We assume that such trackers are anyways not being promoted.

An expired tracker can be extended and you need not change tracking links. You just need to go to “registered trackers” in the affiliate post login page and click on any extend links you would see to re-activate trackers. This can be done while checking your stats, which an affiliate does at least once a month for the active trackers.

    Thanks,
    Satya
