Anyone have any ideas on dates or any sites that give out more info on this? Dean and I are seriously considering attending, we’re planning a trip in Sept. to the US and I heard it may happen at that time………..
January 13, 2005 at 3:31 pm #660091AnonymousGuestThe one to attend is http://www.cac2005.com as it is attended by most affiliate programs and many US and global affiliates. September 11-12, and precedes the G2E (Global Gaming Expo). Since you are coming all the way from Aus, it would probably be intersesting for you to attend it, although predominantly land based operations exhibit there.
There will, more than likely, be other affiliate events happening around that time so it will probably be a trip that you can get a lot out of.
some sites to look at are:
http://www.gamingfloor.com/
http://www.osneymedia.co.uk/events.asp?etype=telecomgaming
http://www.ateonline.co.uk/default.asp?showid=21See you there!
January 13, 2005 at 4:25 pm #660095AnonymousInactiveIf you want to meet most everyone, either Vegas or Amsterdam are the best bets, Attendance at all the other events is a lot more spotty.
January 13, 2005 at 5:29 pm #660096AnonymousInactiveI recall several of us talking about getting together at the next event immediately following the last – LOL.
I also recall talk about the Venetian this year in Vegas. That would be great if a large number of us could stay in the same hotel / and possible book block of rooms or an entire floor
I most likely will not be attending the next conference based on the information I learned from previous event in that not much is offered for experienced affiliates. I will instead concentrate on networking in more relaxed settings.
I look forward to meeting you and Dean. :wavey:
January 13, 2005 at 6:24 pm #660097AnonymousInactiveWe definitely need to try to all stay at the same hotel next time. Also, I think CAP may have a get together immediately following the Vegas conference this year – in Vegas of course.
The conference is exactly what we make it. I am sure that any requests by us for topics/speakers will be given priority. It is an affiliate conference – OUR conference. We need to shape it. Just complaining doesn’t help. It could be a very good thing, if we bothered to make it so.
January 19, 2005 at 10:25 am #660395AnonymousInactiveThanks Jon for the links!! Chances are we will be there for both. We want to make reservations asap so if everyone is going to stay at the Venetian, please let me know so we can reserve a room!!
January 19, 2005 at 2:53 pm #660408vladcizsolMemberCAP will be in Vegas this year around the time of the CAC event. And as Arkyt pointed out we are planning on having a get together at the Venetian. I am planning on attending CAC and the CAP Vegas events this year even if I have to take a damned train. Mrs Professor is coming with me so I think I will actually make it on the plane this year.
January 19, 2005 at 4:35 pm #660415AnonymousInactiveI am looking forward to that!
If the Venetian is carved in stone we should start making reservations asap – there will be a lot of us.
January 20, 2005 at 3:10 pm #660476vladcizsolMemberWe are planning on the Venetian right now Damian. Our meetings director Shanon is currently negotiating for discounted rates for CAP members. She is also working on securing us rooms at a discounted rate at the Loews resort in South Beach in June for the CAP Spring Break event. We will be posting details shortly and you are welcome to join us in Miami as well.

That was so so so much fun last year! I got to see everyone, drink, lay on the beach, drink, learn some stuff, drink…. and I didn’t even get my face bashed in! :1circling

January 26, 2005 at 8:13 am #660700AnonymousInactiveSo, if Dean and I are planning on Vegas from the 10th to the 16th, should we wait for Shanon to secure rooms at a decent rate? We would like to get the rooms reserved asap, coming directly from Australia to Vegas, we want to make sure we have a bed to sleep in right away! LOL
Please Lou, keep me updated so we can secure those nights asap! Tell the Mrs. we’re really looking forward to seeing her again!January 26, 2005 at 11:33 am #660706vladcizsolMemberHi Ellen
Yes, Shanon is very experienced in event planning and she has assured us she will get us the absolute best rates available at the Venitian resort. I will get you full details ASAP. We look forward to seeing you and Dean in Vegas  -
