Hi there,
with the new setup and links, I cannot figure out how to link directly to you.
I serve all my own banners, so I need links.
Thanks.
October 25, 2004 at 2:44 pm #656635vladcizsolMemberYes, I do the same so direct text links and direct download links are very helpful. Can you illustrate the correct linking format?
Are text links and direct download links integrated in the new affiliate control panel? If so where do we access them?
February 17, 2005 at 7:19 pm #661757AnonymousInactiveIt has gotten to the point where I can’t carry you at all if I don’t get some direct links going.
http://www.fortune-affiliates.com/tagservlet/tagservlet?btag=ad_81315
I don’t think that has my code in it, does it?
Please address this asap or I will not be able to include you in this update.
February 17, 2005 at 8:04 pm #661760AnonymousInactiveDominique, I believe that actually is your own unique tag.
Below are some examples from my own account.
Text Link
My 7Sultans text link code looks like this:
tagservlet/tagservlet?btag=ad_75085″>Download 7Sultans
I don’t need the font tags there, so I delete them. I also delete the bold tags around “Download 7Sultans.” And I add target=”blank” to open the link in a new window. I end up with this:
btag=ad_75085″ target=”_blank”>Download 7Sultans
Banner LinkThe code for one of my banners looks like this:
February 17, 2005 at 8:56 pm #661762AnonymousInactiveI also find it a pain in the butt to get affiliate tags. It also takes far too long to find a banner to rip the tag from. A simple solution would be to have affiliate links that go to each casino on the same page that affiliates first log into.
February 21, 2005 at 3:44 pm #661886AnonymousInactiveHi All
The easiest place to steal a tag from is a text link.
In “Hot Media” there should be a text link for each brand.
Just take the link part that starts http://www.fortuneaffiliates.com and ends in ad_12345
This tag at the end of the link is what controls the tracking and redirecting.
As long as the text link was for the same brand it will still track and work.
If the wrong brand is used it will track but go to the wrong page.
If you want to track these separately you can choose “text links” from media management and assign a new campaign to them.
This will give you the ability to track the ones you stole separately from the original text links.I am going to see if we can put a page with all the brand’s direct links.
I’ll get back to you guys about this tomorrow.Thanks.
February 23, 2005 at 6:24 am #661953AnonymousInactiveHi All
I am still looking into the addition of a direct links page.
I think that this would be a great idea for Affiliates that create their own material or need generic links.
I’ll let you guys know ASAP.
Any changes will definitely be in the newsletter, so keep reading! Thanks.
February 24, 2005 at 8:29 am #661988AnonymousGuestHere’s an exert of a correspondence between myself and an FL manager.
I’ve posted about this at Cap, but will say again. Anybody that wants to use my code on their site is okay with me. So why such security precautions are in place on a banner farm is rediculous.
I just returned from trying to get creatives from FA.
Frankly I don’t know how anybody on a dial up ever is able to even get one damn creative before being kicked out.
1 – One is my maximum that I am able to retrieve before being kicked out and I’m using broad band.
You have something like 20 different possible properties. Now how thrilled do you think someone is going to be to have to login 20 different times. And that’s at the minimum. If I don’t like the banners I get on my first try, guess what? I have to log in again.
I’ve just managed to find 3 I liked, and now I’m so frustrated with your affiliate website that frankly I don’t ever want to see the damn thing again.
If that helps make up your mind. Good!
Why is it that the website creators always lean towards overkill?
What i said is the truth. I cannot get more than 1 banner ad at at time before being kicked out.
I feel extremely rushed to manage that; the whole thing is so stupid its unbeleivable. There’s absolutely no reason we should have to go thru this idiotic routine to simply get a banner.
What is the reason for kicking us out of the banner farms on a time delay?
nothing I can think of even remotely makes sense.
To what end is there in kicking out the respective webmaster when if a competitor wanted my banner code, all they have to do is visit my site and swipe it from there. Presto! done.
and what drives me crazy is that they can get the damn code in about 1/20th the time it would take me, figuring you have about 20 different properties and I can only log in and grab one banner before getting kicked out.
And God forbid I don’t like the banner choices i get on the first attempt; because there damn sure isn’t going to be a second try until I log in again.
it makes me want to scream.
March 4, 2005 at 9:14 am #662339AnonymousInactiveHi All
We are going to be adding a page for “direct links”.
This will be a generic link for each brand (with no media filters) where you can generate links for each brand and grab quickly from one place.
This is especially for Affiliates serving their own banners or creating their own adverts or reviews.I’ll keep you advised of the time frame but it will take at least a few weeks.
I am sure that this will help a LOT with the media! Thanks.
March 4, 2005 at 2:45 pm #662356AnonymousInactiveThat sounds like a plan.
Perhaps you can also post them here as soon as you have them so we don’t have to wait for the site to be amended.
Thanks!
March 7, 2005 at 1:54 pm #662581AnonymousInactiveHi Dominique
Thanks!
Each link needs to be generated for the correct casino for EACH Affiliate.
Remember that these direct links will be coded PER Affiliate.
So you can use the link anywhere you want on YOUR sites and still get credit.I’ll post as soon as these are available on the site.
You will not need to go through Media Management to get them.
There will be a page called “Direct Links” and this will have all of the brands in one page!I’ll let you know.
Thanks.
