    Hi all!

I’m a new member of CAP and me and my collegue are in the process of creating out first casino page, a kind of online casion guide (that in the end will direct visitors to casinos). We have been looking around at similar pages and at a bunch of affiliate programs availiable and have some questions:

    1. Is the “net %” best way to start up your business or should you sign up for some CPA?
    2. How many affiliate programs should you register on? Is it best to concetrate on some few of many?
    3. Which affiliate program do you recommend?
    4. How important is SEO?
    5. Do you recommend building a community around the site? Pro’s /con’s?

And finally, when we are finished, anyone here that want to share links?

    Thanks,
    BigKahuna

    1. Is the “net %” best way to start up your business or should you sign up for some CPA?

Most people here prefer % of net revenue. My average player value to me in commissions is $380–I haven’t seen a CPA program yet that pays that much.

    2. How many affiliate programs should you register on? Is it best to concetrate on some few of many?

My strategy was to start with one or two, and then start working my way out from there. Eventually you’ll want to be working with quite a few, because you won’t want a big winner to wipe out all of your earnings in a month.

    3. Which affiliate program do you recommend?

I recommend Casinoblasters and Party Poker as good ones to start with.

    4. How important is SEO?

More important than anything else in the world. (Unless you have some other way to get people to your site.) The major sources of advertising for gambling websites have tried up, so SEO is critical.

    5. Do you recommend building a community around the site? Pro’s /con’s?

I think it’s a good idea. Repeat visitors are going to be worthwhile, especially if you’re keeping your content and your advertising fresh.

And finally, when we are finished, anyone here that want to share links?

Me! Me! Me! Send me an email at [email protected] about trading links.

Thanks for your quick response, Randy, your answers will be helpfull! :)

Another question: If one has a community and some kind of forum, how important is it to monitor the threads i.e. are we responsible for the content in the forum?

    >Me! Me! Me! Send me an email at [email protected] about trading links.
Great! We’ll send you an email as soon as we are getting closer to finishing the page.

    Thanks again!

    1. Is the “net %” best way to start up your business or should you sign up for some CPA?

CPA programs are great for people who like have a set income. It’s easy to see that you refer an average of X players a month, and it’s then easy to work out an approximate income for the month/year. net % programs are best IMO. Usually you can make more money but you also risk the chance that somebody could hit the jackpot on the 30th, thereby removing any chance you get of receiving a paycheck.

    2. How many affiliate programs should you register on? Is it best to concetrate on some few of many?
    3. Which affiliate program do you recommend?

Just register with one, maybe two large programs. When you start out you shouldn’t expect to generate alot of new real players. If you refer 10 new players it’s best to have that spread out over 1 or 2 programs, not over 10.

I started out using http://www.referback.com (or use my affiliate link http://www.referback.com/index.asp?s=aff67611). They used to have 9 casinos, now just 7. 3 of those casinos also have a poker room too. I’d recommend Referback to anyone, but if you want more variety go to the CAP mainpage and you’ll find a large selection.

    5. Do you recommend building a community around the site? Pro’s /con’s?

To make a community involves a large amount of time and effort. You generally need a large amount of traffic to get it started. Would you join a forum that only has 5 registered users? That said, in a year or two’s time if you have the resources and time required then go for it.
