RACINE – Rebecca L. Schreiner lost a lot of money gambling online – about $1,100 – according to Racine County Circuit Court records. That’s a problem.

It wasn’t her money. That’s a bigger problem.

Schreiner, 27, Franklin, was charged Tuesday with misappropriation of personal ID theft, a felony. She could face up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.

According to court records, Schreiner was staying at the home of a Caledonia couple, and used the personal identifying information, including bank account information, of one of her hosts to access an online gambling site.

The woman whose information Schreiner is accused of using told Caledonia police Schreiner may have seen her enter the information while accessing the gambling site at some point.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23. Schreiner was released from the Racine County Jail on a $1,000 surety bond or $500 cash.

Stolen ATVs When a Racine County sheriff’s deputy pulled over Adam McCoy on Interstate 94 early Sunday, he was driving a U-Haul truck with gang symbols painted along the side and two stolen all-terrain vehicles in the back, according to court records.

McCoy, 31, Chicago, was charged Monday with two felony counts of theft. He was ordered held in the Racine County Jail on $20,000 cash bond.

A resident along Highway K in Franksville first called the Racine County Sheriff’s Department around 3:30 a.m., reporting suspicious activity around his house. He heard vehicles driving back and forth slowly past his house; people running around in front of his house; people pushing something across his yard; and he saw a big box truck heading east.

A sheriff’s deputy spotted the U-Haul, which turned south onto I-94. When he pulled it over, a passenger jumped out of the truck and ran. In the back were two ATVs, valued at $11,900 total. Both had been stolen since Saturday night – one from Union Grove, one from Franksville.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 22. If convicted, McCoy could face up to 12 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Call for a ride Moments after snatching a 16-year-old girl’s purse and hitting her in the head, a winded Jeremy R. Frison called friends on a cell phone and said he needed a ride, fast, according to court records.

Frison, 17, 2140 Sutton Drive, got in his friend’s car which then drove away. The girl later picked out his picture from a photo lineup. Frison was charged Monday with strong-arm robbery and child abuse.

The girl and her mother were walking in the 3200 block of Wright Avenue on June 25 when Frison walked up to them, grabbed the girl’s purse and then hit her on the head when she wouldn’t immediately let go, according to court records. Purse in hand and the girl’s mother in pursuit, Frison ran away and called his friend for a ride.

Frison was ordered held in the Racine County Jail on $25,000 cash bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23. If convicted, he could face up to 21 years in prison and $60,000 in fines.
