Hi everyone
I am new to all of this.
I purchased this sight, http://www.cheatbj.com the person I bought it from is as helpful as an anchor to a drowning peron.
I asked if they had any prefrences as to marketing campaigns.
The answer I got was “advertise alot”.
I have seen affiliate click thrus, autosurfs, email ptr’s That stuff is Bull**** You spend hours advertising to broke people or people that are interested in exposing their site while ignoring yours and vice versa.
I have put into search engines and I understand that will take awhile and that my rankings may go up the more sights out there that link to my website. I’ve posted in other free areas while I am waiting for my advertising budget.
My question is I know most of the free trade around stuff is mostly going to get me untargeted traffic that could disapear tomorrow. So what is the best strategy for purchasing a campaign???
What kind of results can I expect from an opt in list campaign? Are these people free freaks mostly to?
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.July 1, 2004 at 6:35 pm #651236AnonymousInactiveHi there,
first you need to build a website, or find someone to design one for you inexpensively.
Then you need to visit places that teach you how to optimize for search engines.
Without a real site you cannot get into a search engine. Just linking your domain to Blackjack Ballroom will not allow you into the search engines.
Then once you have a site and are listed in the engines, then you can spend some money on advertising.
The domain name is nice, so now you need to find Blackjack related content.
If you want, you could buy traffic for the site as is and it will all go to Blackjack Ballroom. I don’t think that works too well though.
July 1, 2004 at 6:46 pm #651237AnonymousGuestThere are a few very good forums to help with optimization. I like this one:
http://www.highrankings.com/forum/July 1, 2004 at 6:52 pm #651238AnonymousInactiveI was afraid of that.
the person I bought the sight from hasn’t given me a straight answer since I bought the sight. Guess he or she was out for a quick buck.
What Content must I have?for the designer put together for me to be successful?July 1, 2004 at 7:06 pm #651240AnonymousInactiveIf you want to make some immediate cash with the site, you “could” buy some PPC traffic on GoClick and 7search for very targeted 2 or 3 keyword terms, and keep your cost per click low. Directing traffic to Blackjack Ballroom might make you a little money, but keep a close eye on how much you’re willing to spend on advertising.
As far as content goes, try to write unique content. i.e., content that can’t be found on other people’s website. That’s your only hope of getting listed in the directories. Once you get directory listings, your Google results should start picking up for you a little bit.
You don’t need an elaborate or fancily designed website to make money in this business. You really don’t “have” to have unique content either, but you’ll make more money with unique content than you will without it.
Highrankings.com is a good forum. BruceClay.com, SEOChat.com, SearchGuild.com, and WebmasterWorld.com also have good information.
There’s a lot of information on how to make money in this industry on the web if you’re willing to dig for it. A lot of folks are pretty tight with some of the more specific details of how they make money, but the folks in this forum are a helpful bunch indeed.
July 1, 2004 at 7:13 pm #651241AnonymousInactiveWith a domain like cheatbj.com, I would think of content related to the keywords in the domain. How to cheat at blackjack would be an obvious topic. How to do so well at blackjack that it seems like you’re cheating would be another. And of course, “cheat” and “bj” both have connotations having nothing to do with online gaming that could be very profitable too.
You could also try to sell the domain at a profit, although the price of a domain will go up considerably if there’s an actualy live website there.
July 1, 2004 at 7:53 pm #651242AnonymousInactiveI’d seriously reconsider the current redirection of your domain directly to BlackjackBallroom, or any other casino for that matter.
Would you play at an online casino whose domain name is CheatBJ.com?
July 1, 2004 at 7:54 pm #651243AnonymousInactiveThanks RANDY
I love a challenge so I am going to take everyones advice and BUILD A SITE WORTHY OF WICKED AMOUNTS OF TRAFFIC& build content around “cheating blackjack”-
” playing so well you must be cheating”,etc.
What kind of(search engine repelling) things should I stay away from with content on my site? Links and suchJuly 1, 2004 at 8:01 pm #651245AnonymousInactiveGood point! The last thing somebody wants to see while their considering spending money is “cheat” It raises the question who’s getting cheated?
ThanksJuly 1, 2004 at 8:30 pm #651250AnonymousInactivePeople want a site that tells THEM how to cheat, just not a casino that cheats!
Build your site around basic startegy and card counting etc.
July 1, 2004 at 9:01 pm #651257AnonymousInactiveHere’s a suggestion: do a search for “blackjack”, “online blackjack”, “cheat at blackjack”, “blackjack cheating”, “how to count cards”, “blackjack strategy”, “blackjack odds”, etc.
Look at the sites with good quality, solid, useful content. Look at the sites that are banner farms. Decide for yourself which ones are which.
Look at the keywords they’re targeting–you can usually tell because they’re in the title tags of each pages.
Use the sites you like and the content you like as role models for your site. But don’t copy or steal content.
Then find a need or a niche that neither the good sites or the bad sites fill. Make sure it’s something that you’re confident that you can handle.
After that, the real work begins.
July 1, 2004 at 10:39 pm #651269AnonymousInactiveGood thread for us newbies
Keep em coming, I want more :3eyes:July 1, 2004 at 11:41 pm #651274AnonymousGuestI think Randy’s suggestion to make it a “how to play blackjack so well you’ll feel like you’re cheating” is excellent.
There are many resources for this, too.
I have stacks of books on poker, and I’m putting together a poker site that may make a winner even out of me! There are even more books on blackjack available. Try amazon.com. There are also a huge number of blackjack sites, which may help you narrow down your focus – it’s easy to bite off too big a chunk at first.
Most importantly: Be a blackjack player. Play the games – play all the versions of blackjack so that you’re writing about something you know – it’ll make a difference. Play for free and for real money. I know it’s a drag, but someone has to do it.
:p
July 2, 2004 at 4:15 am #651286AnonymousInactiveI have made a short list of content I would like to see on my site and I have begun reviewing sites to inspire me to provide content people want to see. And I am going to shop for books and info tonight.
This is a good challenge for me, I like playing blackjack in casino’s and online so homework won’t be a chore.
Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it alot. -
