A recent advertisement published in The Montana Billings Gazette which offered Montanans a chance to start their own online casino, has caught the attention of the State Justice Department. It has warned all the State citizens to stay away from the activity as it’s illegal.
For years, online gambling has been classified as illegal in Montana. State officials said the advert surprised them, as this was the first time someone offered services publicly in a newspaper soliciting online casinos.
Sirbet.com, which is licensed and operates from the island of Curacao in Netherlands Antilles, offered the service to interested customers and entrepreneurs who wish to set up a site for online sports betting and games of chance for less than $499. Sirbet also promised operators revenues up to $5,000 to $10,000 as a part of the profit sharing deal.
Sirbet.com may be on the safe side for now, as it has a disclaimer on it’s website which advises the public to check respective state and country laws before participating or entering a transaction.
