Hi
Im totally new to the forum.
I am currently making a little bit of money promoting Online pharmacies. Currently I have been looking to dabble in other areas.
So what are importiant things I need to know in getting started in the biz?
What methods do you use to generate traffic?
What kind of sites work the best?
Is this more competitive then OP?ie. in op people use, SEO and PPC for traffic, branded sites or “Price comparison sites” that compare prices of top OP’s.
Thanks for the help

Unlike the pharmacy sector, most casino affiliates have portal style sites listing the top casinos in their opinion and the bonuses when they join.
Casino guides and directories are very commonly run by casino affiliates.
There are many decent casino affiliate programs out there and taking a look at the Professors list of certified programs is a good start.

Because this sector is so competitive you will need to find your niche and work on that.
I’ve sent you a PM with a link to a resource that you may find useful.
Cheers

March 11, 2004 at 12:24 am #646065AnonymousInactiveSo the site should be ither
-casino guide
-casino portal
-casino directoryThe site should be a nice right? What are some various niches?
If you have a listing of lots of casinos, how do you know what one is the best?
Also is it better to take a rev share or per new customers option?
March 11, 2004 at 1:42 am #646081AnonymousInactiveGo rev share, definitely.
You’d hate to sell a whale to the casino for $100 or even $200.
I have two players who’ve played and lost over $10,000 in the last two months. So I made several thousand dollars off each of them. More than enough to compensate for the occasional $50 depositor who never returns.
Any casino game could be considered a niche. So a blackjack site, a slots site, etc.
Take a look at some portals and see how they organize their listings. You can learn a lot about niche marketing just based on how they list. (e.g., they might be listed in order of best bonus or best bonus percentage. they might be listed by software. etc.)
Also–if you haven’t chosen a partner yet, I recommend CasinoBlasters. I’ve done better with them than with any other program so far. And if I can help in any way, feel free to email me or PM.
If you decide to try CasinoBlasters, consider using my link–you’ll get the same commission and I’ll get a tiny little bit of money for referring you.

One more tip–study this discusion board thoroughly. I think I’ve read every post here, and it’s been like a virtual university for a casino affiliate.
Good luck!

March 12, 2004 at 11:26 pm #646189AnonymousInactiveRandy I have developed a marketing program that will bring about 150 new players a week to online casinos I affiliate with.
I am new at this and looking for the best revenue stream possible
for gaming, sports and poker! In your opinion is your link the best? Let me know your thoughts. thank you..March 19, 2004 at 8:01 pm #646520AnonymousInactiveI agree with Randy, the “casino guide” model is the best one to follow because if you have a surfer coming to your site, you are offeing a variety of casinos that appeal to different types of players rather than just one casino program.
If you want an idea of how to design a good site, here are two of the biggest “super affiliates” in the gambling biz:
Both of these guys make TONS of money and they have been doing it for years.
Notice that the sites are DIFFERENT.
Do NOT copy either site design, that is stealing!
I just want to give you examples of two sites that are VERY successful so that you can get some idea about how to design your own “casino guide” site.

Give Winward Casino a try.

We have been online since 1998, one of the oldest casinos on the Web and we have great customer retention.
As Randy said, rev share is the way to go. And the longer the customer stays with a casino, the more money you make. That’s why it’s important to work with a casino that has been around for a long time and keeps its players coming back again and again.
Best of Luck!
March 19, 2004 at 8:19 pm #646523AnonymousInactiveWe do see your casino in your signature. We automatically assume that you therefor recommend it.
It is not necessary to mention it in your messages unless you want to start a thread about it and answer questions people might have.
Please do not spam. :spam:

I was just responding to his request for good programs.
My apologies.

April 14, 2004 at 4:53 pm #647989AnonymousInactiveOK, so I have read a lot of posts in this and other forums. My main question is this:
With the pending regulatory measures against online gambling, if I were to start today, is it still worth it to enter this industry? How much longer do you think this will last?

That is very hard to say, however, let me give you some historical perspective.
I first got involved with marketing online gambling in 1997. Then, in 1998, about 21 people were arrested for operating illegal online gambling operations. These were U.S. citizens running online casinos and sportsbooks outside the U.S., but they were dumb enough to have their names attached to them. In almost all of the cases, they pleaded guilty to minor crimes. Only one guy (that I know of) went to trial.
At the time, it looked like that could be the end of online gambling. Senatory Kyl introduced the first of many bills in Congress to make online gambling illegal. It never made it to the President’s desk.
Since 1998, few if any people have been arrested for online gambling. There have been several attempts to pass bills in Congress to make online gambling illegal. So far none have been successful.
My point is that this is NOT the first time the government has said it would “crack down” on online gambling, and it certainly won’t be the last.
How long will it take before online gambling is actually shut down? Nobody can say.
But if I had thrown in the towel in 1998 when the first crack down happened, I would have missed out on millions of dollars worth of income.
April 14, 2004 at 5:19 pm #647991AnonymousInactiveWould I have less liability in Canada?
April 14, 2004 at 5:35 pm #647992AnonymousInactiveI am not an attorney, but I think you would have less liability in Canada simply because you are NOT a U.S. citizen and you do not live in the U.S.
All the stories about “crackdowns” have focused on efforts by the U.S. government. The only way you could be affected is if the Canadian government also decided to crack down on online gambling.
