William Hill’s second domain, one of the biggest domain names in the European gaming community, has been added to the Belgium government’s infamous black list of companies. The Belgian Gaming Commission has accused William Hill of not having the proper gaming license to operate there.
Recently, the Belgian Gaming Commission released an expanded list of operators who are continuing to offer their services to the Belgian market and have thus been blacklisted. The Belgian government this year has introduced a new license-based system that allows a limited number of operators to offer online poker as long as it’s within the nations borders and they have the license to operate there.
The total number of companies now on the black list is 30 and there are some big name on there like: Betsson, Betclic, Expekt, Betfair, William Hill and Stan James. The list goes on to include 888, Titan, Chilipoker and more.
According to the government, it’s the actual players that could face some heavy fines of up € 25,000 to if they do not stop playing at these sites. The operators could also face some heavy fines and even the Internet providers will be asked to block access to these sites as per request of the Belgian Gambling Authority.
So, seems everyone has been told and by the looks of it they mean it by the blacklist.
