New Jersey Opens iGaming Soft Launch

New Jersey online gambling operators are participating in a soft launch of the country’s newest igaming market that’s spread across 17 different sites.

As one might expect, the early hours of the trial run were marked with a host of technical glitches.
Some end-users reported geolocation errors that kept them from playing, despite their locations deep in the Garden State. (This is separate from NJ resident who live near state lines that are not being recognized as residents.)
Other players are finding that US banks aren’t interested in dealing with online gambling, even in states where it’s perfectly legal. This issue has come up in Nevada as well and will probably come up in Delaware, too.
None these glitches are particularly serious and are exactly what the trial period is designed to ferret out. Delaware ran a similar test run on their system a few weeks back, and the same can be expected from most states that embrace regulated igaming.
Participants (and partnerships) included in the test run are as follows:

  • Bwin.part/Borgata – Borgatacasino.com, Borgatapoker.com and NJ.Partypoker.com.
  • Caesars Interactive Entertainment/888 Holdings – HarrahsCasino.com, WSOP.com, US.888.com, US.888poker.com and US.888casino.com
